Key Point #1:
The whole idea of
“play” as
teenagers’ experience it today
is a relatively new concept.
The manner in which you “play,” the manner in which your
parents played, the manner in which I played and the manner
in which my kids “play” is something that has only been
going on for the last six or seven decades!
(since the late 1940’s)
Key Point #2:
Before 1940
– just over 65 years ago –
there was technically no such thing as
a “teenager.”
The word “teenager” and the
experience of “teen life” DID NOT EXIST AT ALL; it is truly
a new phenomenon.
Over the course of human
history maturity, or adulthood, was measured on the basis of
physical size and capability, not age.
There is a Great Teen Myth alive in this
world!
Believing
in, and living The Myth, keeps a Teenager from
having
what they truly WANT and NEED in their
life.
